Introduction to Dr. DY Patil Law College Pune

Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society believes in attaining excellence in the field of education for the benefit of both privileged and under-privileged students from Kindergarten to Post Graduate education. Dr. D. Y. Patil Law College was established in the year 2001 under the patronage of Dr. P. D. Patil, Chairman.

The objective of this Law College right from its inception has been to promote and protect the feeling of togetherness, caring, sharing and understanding between students from all states. Sincere efforts are being made to achieve excellence in academics including practical training, excellence in infrastructure and excellence in discipline. Since this college is situated in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Industrial belt and Information Technology Park, Hinjawadi, a placement program has been included for the benefit of the students.

Keeping pace with the modern times this college has made in-roads in the use of computers and is imparting extra-coaching in Taxation Laws, Labour Laws and Cyber Laws. We have taken upon ourselves, the task of not only imparting legal education but also catering to the vocational needs of our students. Looking back at the path traversed, we can be content for having fulfilled the objectives so far and hope that the same trend continues.

One Day National Workshop under Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan in collaboration with Board of Students’ Development, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune has been organised by Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society’s Dr. D. Y. Patil Law College, Pimpri, Pune on Saturday, 26th February 2022 under the apt guidance of Dr. Ujwala Shinde, Principal.

“Nirbhay kanya Abhiyan” scheme is introduced by the University to develop the confidence and personality of a lady student. The main objective of this scheme is to develop a critical mind and self-confidence, to give training in health, law, social activities, self-defence etc. to female students. With these objectives “One day National Workshop under Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan” was organised by the college. In this workshop following sessions were conducted.

Women and Health: Menstrual Hygiene (Dr. Neeta Mahesekar, Director, North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy, Shillong, Meghalaya)
Protection for Women: Law and Government Mechanism (Mr. Ansar Shaikh, Asst. Police Inspector, Pimpri, Pune)
