Shortlisting And Selection Process For Slat

Shortlisting for personal interaction and writing ability test (pi/wat) or studio test and personal interaction (st-pi):

Candidates will be shortlisted for PI/WAT/ST-PI based on their respective Entrance Test marks. Please check the respective institute website for information and dates of PI/WAT/ST-PI.

**Disclaimer: It is mandatory to attend all components / tests of PI/WAT/ST-PI to be eligible for admission to any UG programmes. Only candidates who attend all components / tests of selection process (PI/WAT/ST-PI) shall be considered as eligible for generation of merit / wait / reject list. Candidates who remain absent for any one of the component / test will be considered as ineligible for selection process of UG degree programmes of SIU.

· Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) CBT Mode

· Writing Ability Test (WAT) ‘Home Based Online Proctored Mode’

· PI (Personal Interaction) online

Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT):

Please note that the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) will be conducted through ‘CBT Mode’.

SLAT will be an online admission test for 60 marks. Structure of SLAT includes 60 questions for 1 mark each covering Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and General Knowledge. Total duration of test SLAT is 60 minutes.

After declaration of SLAT result, SLS Pune will publish the list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for Online PI (Personal Interaction) & ‘Home Based Online Proctored Mode’ WAT (Written Ability Test) process.

Please Note: Name of the candidate will appear in the list of shortlisted candidates for PI-WAT only if he/she has registered and paid (programme wise fee @Rs.1000/- for each programme) to SLS, Pune while filling SLAT registration form

Online Writing Ability Test (WAT): WAT is conducted to test the writing ability of the candidate. The candidates are required to write a short essay on the topic given. The topic can be from social, political and legal domain.

Personal Interaction (PI):Personal Interaction is intended to test the Personal Attributes, inclination towards law as a career, overall personality and communication skills, Extracurricular and Co-curricular activities, and elementary knowledge of law of a candidate.

PI (Personal Interaction):

PI (Personal Interaction) – 30 Marks

Online PI of shortlisted candidates will be conducted online by panel of experts from Industry / Academia.

WAT (Writing Ability Test) – 20 Marks

WAT (Writing Ability Test) will be conducted Online Home-Based Proctored Mode.

Slot booking: The candidate needs to book a slot for PI at SLS, Pune. Slot booking link for shortlisted candidates will be available on our website, www.symlaw.ac.in. If a slot is not booked by the candidate within stipulated date & time a forceful allotment will be done. The candidate needs to check the website of SLS, Pune for status (shortlisted or not) and for booking the slot for PI.

Reporting for PI: Shortlisted candidates must upload scanned copies of their original documents (STRICTLY IN PDF Format ONLY) as specified in the intimation for PI e.g. 12th Std. Mark Sheet, Provisional Passing Certificate from School/College, Caste / Category Certificate (IF APPLICABLE) for SC/ST/KM/DA and Children/wards of Defense Personnel, photo identity proof – Aadhar Card / License / PAN Card/Passport, Certificates of Curricular, Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities.

1. When will SLAT 2024 application form be released?

The application form for SLAT 2024 was released on December 12, 2023 in online mode. The last date to apply for SLAT 2024 was April 14, 2024.

2. What is the SLAT 2024 registration fee?

The registration fee for SLAT 2024 is Rs. 2250/- per test. In addition to this, candidates have to pay Rs. 1000 for each programme in each college they want to apply to.

3. Can I submit the SLAT application form in offline mode?

No, you will have to submit the application in online mode only. However, the application fee can be submitted in both online and offline modes.

4. I am appearing in Class 12th exams, can I apply for SLAT 2024?

Yes, you can apply for SLAT 2024. However, to secure admission, you must complete Class 12 with minimum marks as mentioned in the SLAT eligibility criteria by the time of counselling.
