Examining candidates for admission to 45,621 seats offered by more than 400 B-schools in Maharashtra for their MBA, MMS, and PGDM programs, the exam is administered by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. 2013 saw the cancellation of MAH CET due to the introduction of the AICTE CMAT test. DTE reintroduced MAH-CET in a computerized format following a one-year break. The exam was administered using a paper-and-pencil format until 2012. There was no alteration to the exam pattern other than the format. The 2015 MAH-CET was taken by 57,224 applicants.
