About SCMS Pune

Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS), Pune was established in the year 2004 and is a Constituent College of Symbiosis International University. The flagship course offered by SCMS is BBA. The present intake for Indian students is 240 and for International students’ intake is 60.

· Admissions to the BBA program are offered to candidates having passed 10+2 (any stream) with minimum 50% marks from a recognized board.

· Selection of candidates shall be based on merit ranks drawn from cumulative scores of SET, Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

· The institute provides 5% relaxation for reserved category candidates.

· It is mandatory for every candidate to register for SET in online mode and also communicate their choice of course and institute.

· An amount of INR 1750/- (non-refundable) has to be paid against application fees via Credit Card/Net Banking/Demand Draft/Cash/Indian Bank Net Banking.

SCMS Pune BBA Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates shall be strictly based on their performance in SET and PI-WAT.

· It is mandatory to attend all components/tests of PI-WAT/ST-PI to be eligible for admission to any UG programs.

· Only candidates who attend all components/tests of the selection process (PI-WAT/ST-PI) shall be considered as eligible for the generation of merit/wait/reject list.

· Candidates who remain absent for any one of the components/tests will be considered as ineligible for the selection process of UG degree programs of SIU.

The candidates must submit the necessary documents at the time of PI-WAT.

Personal Interaction (PI) – It is a personal interaction/interview of a candidate with a panel of experts from Industries/Academics. That covers general awareness, extracurricular activities, academics and specific fields of interest, communication – skills and overall personality.

Written Ability Test (WAT) – The Test includes one PAT (Picture Association Test) and writing a short essay on a given topic (of general nature) as well as answering the questions related to the given topic.

Scholarships at Symbiosis

The Chancellor of SIU, Dr. S.B. Mujumdar believes that education is the only way of bringing about international peace and understanding. Set up in 1971, ‘Symbiosis’ was created to offer a home away from home for foreign students from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Symbiosis is keen to offer scholarships* to foreign students to give them the opportunity to take advantage of the educational programs available at Symbiosis. The scholarships are offered preferably in conjunction with the education ministries / embassies of participating countries. Close cooperation with these foreign governments will assist in ensuring that scholarships are awarded to the most deserving candidates.

The Symbiosis International Scholarships are funded by the Symbiosis Society Foundation and are offered to deserving and meritorious foreign students from various African, Asian and Middle Eastern countries. All scholarships are administered by the Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) Office in conjunction with the office of the Symbiosis Society Foundation. The Scholarship Committee shall endeavor to maintain gender balance and include students from diverse backgrounds while selecting candidates.

Who is eligible to apply for Scholarship?

Applicant Eligiblity

· International Scholarships are only for ‘Foreign Nationals’

(Person of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders, NRIs and Indian students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship).

Applicants Must

· Hold a valid foreign passport.

· Have obtained more than 50% as a qualifying grade in STD. XII Those appeared for final exams and awaiting final results should submit predicted results (in case of Undergraduate programs).

· Have obtained more than 50% as a qualifying grade in Graduation (in case of Postgraduate programs).

· Have appeared for an English Proficiency Test conducted by British Council (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6 or the IELA Test with a minimum band of 4.

· Fulfill the specific eligibility criteria (if any) of the desired program.
