Jai Hind College, Autonomous, Mumbai, was founded soon after the Indian independence, in 1948, by a group of erstwhile professors of D.J. Sind College, Karachi, and other eminent educationists under the registered name of ‘Sind Educationists’ Association’ primarily for the educational rehabilitation of the Sindhi community. Starting from a humble two-room college, catering to only the Arts stream, it soon progressed to include Science in 1949, followed by Commerce in 1980. Post 2000, the college introduced several “Self-financed” and “Vocational” courses to improve employability of students, like Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM), Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (BAF), Bachelor of Banking and Insurance (BBI), Bachelor of Financial Market (BFM) and, Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Travel & Tourism Management (B. Voc. TT) and Software Development (B. Voc. SD). Recently, Master of Science in Big Data Analytics and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) were introduced, both in collaboration with TCS as the Industry partner. At present, there are 13 UG programs, 5 PG programs, 1 Research program and 51 Certificate/Skill development/Value-added Courses that Jai Hind College offers. In 2018, the Union Ministry of HRD and the University of Mumbai conferred us with the Autonomous Status in view of our record of continued excellence in academic and all round growth of our students.

Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting and Finance (BAF)

Program Overview
Accounting and finance play an existential role in the management of any business. These are the basic tools required by any company to analyze its performance, develop strategies to tackle problems and achieve goals. Due to increasing scope and opportunities in this field, Jai hind college started this course in 2010.

The B.A.F.(Bachelor of accounting and finance) course is a comprehensive three year graduate program that provides professional education for those wishing to pursue their careers in the fields of accounting and finance. It has a strong emphasis on developing analytical skills and offers a solid grounding and professional competence in all aspects of commerce required for careers in the business and corporate sectors.

The dual major of Accounting and Finance enables students to understand the increasingly complex and critical area of finance coupled with knowledge of the practices of accounting. This course aims to produce graduates who will create innovative solutions to problems, apply research skills to business challenges and communicate effectively.

Key Features

This course is a full time course. The duration of the course shall be six semesters spread over three years.
It shall consist of 40 modules of 100 marks each.
B.A.F is the perfect undergraduate program for students planning to pursue C.A.
Projects, case studies, presentations, moot courts and industrial visits ensure a good blend of theory and practical in the course.
Provides the exposure of working in the industry during the Summer Internship Program which is a compulsory component of the program.
Additional benefit/option of the program is a chance to pursue higher studies with Colleges/ Universities abroad as part of the various linkages that Jai Hind College has.

To be eligible for the same, the candidates must possess a 10+2 pass certificate. Admission will be based on merit secured in the qualifying exams.

Admission will be granted solely on the basis of merit i.e, the marks secured in 10+2 qualifying exams.

Note:

AIDED Courses– Students taking admission to Aided Courses, are supposed to pay only the fee stipulated by the Government.
UNAIDED Courses– College does not get aid from the Government for such courses hence, students need to pay the entire fee as per the college’s fee structure.
