At Dayananda Sagar University, Bachelor’s in Design (B.Des.) course is a four-year full-time degree program that equips students with industrially relevant knowledge and skills that are required to become a professional designer. With creativity as its main driver, we consider usability, aesthetics, functionality and sustainability at the focal points of design. This course combines the knowledge of science, technology, human behavior and society to address human needs spanning across the various levels of Maslow’s hierarchy. We nurture students to apply emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, AR and VR, Additive Manufacturing to develop systems that address real-world problems.

Programme Overview:
B.Design degree program at DSU offers the four most competitive specializations:
· Product Design
· User Experience Design
· Animation and VFX
· Game Design
For each of the specializations, students must complete a minimum of 160 credits in eight semesters. Foundation courses are common across both specializations. Choice-based credit system, having at least twelve elective courses, is currently offered. Internship at industries or overseas research labs for at least three months is mandatory. The curriculum puts major thrust on projects with one major project, five mini-projects, one research project, and one micro project. Research-based courses and projects are also offered. ‘Continuous Assessment’ approach is followed for performance evaluation of students. Classroom teaching is supplemented with guest lectures and workshops that are scheduled every month and industry visits that are scheduled every semester.
